Use social links in your AI chat or app.
Product guide · Updated 23 October 2026
ExportDat is a content extraction tool. It retrieves available text, images, captions and transcripts from supported links, then delivers that source content to a connected AI assistant or your application.
What problem does ExportDat solve?
Pasting a social link into an AI chat does not always give the assistant access to the post. Copying captions, taking screenshots and finding separate transcript tools takes time. ExportDat retrieves the available source material so your AI has more context to work with. Your AI handles the discussion and reasoning.
How do I use ExportDat in an AI assistant?
- Connect ExportDat to a compatible assistant when hosted access is available for your account.
- Copy the URL of an individual supported post, video or podcast episode.
- Paste the link into the same AI conversation and ask the assistant to use ExportDat to retrieve its content.
- Ask questions about the retrieved material. Check any missing-content warnings before relying on an answer.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is the connection that lets an assistant use a tool such as ExportDat. ExportDat is not a separate chatbot.
Claude MCP has been tested locally. Hosted connections are being prepared; ChatGPT is planned, and Gemini and Perplexity connections have not yet been verified. Logos on the homepage do not indicate verified support for every assistant.
What can I ask?
Replace [URL] with your own link. These are example prompts, not recorded extraction results.
Instagram carousel
Use ExportDat to retrieve the available slides and caption from this Instagram carousel: [URL]. Walk me through the ideas and help me apply them. Flag any missing slides or context.
YouTube video
Use ExportDat to retrieve the available description and transcript from this YouTube video: [URL]. Explain the main ideas, attribute them to the source, and distinguish transcript content from your own suggestions.
LinkedIn post
Use ExportDat to extract this LinkedIn post: [URL]. Explain the author's argument, including any available images, and help me think through how it applies to my business.
How does the API work?
Your application submits a supported URL to the REST API. Extraction runs as an asynchronous job. Your application checks the job and receives structured source content when it is ready. The API supports batch extraction workflows; exact authentication, request and response details should come from the current API documentation when access opens.
Returned information can include post text, author details, images, transcripts, metadata and source references. Some fields may be empty or unavailable. Applications should inspect coverage and missing-content information before using a result. ExportDat retrieves content; your application decides how to analyse it or use it in a workflow.
Which sources and formats are covered?
Current extraction work covers LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and podcast episodes, including Spotify episode information and authorised publisher-linked transcripts. Availability varies by platform and format. Private, restricted or unavailable media may not be retrievable.
Explore content types and copy a source-specific prompt. Profile, channel and show-level discovery are future capabilities, not currently promised features.
What does ExportDat cost?
One link uses one credit. Start with 10 free links, with no card required. Pay-as-you-go top-ups start at $5 USD for 100 links, with no subscription. See current pricing.
Where do I get access or help?
Request access or email hello@exportdat.com. The public website is exportdat.com; the separate customer application is app.exportdat.com, and the REST API and remote MCP use api.exportdat.com. Hosted access and connection availability should be confirmed before setup.
ExportDat is operated by BIG GOFER LTD. Read our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy for information about data handling.
